The 7 Hermetic Principles (Part 2)

Hey, Pumpkins! The 7 Hermetic Principles. We have covered what they are and the first 3 Principles in the previous post. If you have not yet seen this, I highly suggest you run off and read that one first. For now.....Let's jump in!

  1. The Principle of Mentalism
  2. The Principle of Correspondence
  3. The Principle of Vibration
  4. The Principle of Polarity
  5. The Principle of Rhythm
  6. The Principle of Cause and Effect
  7. The Principle of Gender

4. The Principle of Polarity

"Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled." - The Kybalion

Opposites are the same. Breaks your brain right? A good example would be ice and steam. Although different, they are essentially both water. The same concept can be shown in physical matter and spiritual energy. They are both vibrations.

The Principle of Polarity shows us a clearer vision of changing form. Via this, you can better understand your mental state. Closely relating to the Principle of Vibrations, understanding the Principle of Polarity helps you grasp the ability to control your own vibrations. By mastering your own vibrations you are able to strengthen your relationship with the Physical, Spiritual, and Psychological realms.

5. The Principle of Rhythm

"Everything floats, out and in; everything has its tide; all things rise and fall; the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates." - The Kybalion

As you may have noticed, each principle is seen to relate back to the previous principle. Based on this, we know that The Principle of Rhythm relates back to The Principle of Polarity. Looking around you, wherever you may be, you can see that everything has a rhythm. We know that nature has its seasons, but many may not know that we too, in a form, have seasons.

The Principle of Rhythm helps us understand the patterns and rhythms of the world. By identifying these we can use them to work with us, rather than trying to work against these rhythms.

6. The Principle of Cause and Effect

"Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognized; there are many lines of causation, but nothing escapes the law." - The Kybalion

Everything we do, everything that happens, will have an effect. Simply, every cause has an effect. As we know through manifestation, our thoughts (the cause) can reflect in the physical world (the effect).

The Principle of Cause and Effect allows us to change our world and outlook by dealing with events and emotions in a healthy way. We are able to look at the effect, find the course, and discover a true understanding of the world around us.

7. The Principle of Gender

"Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes." - The Kybalion

No matter your gender, we all hold both masculine and feminine qualities. When we speak about the masculine and feminine, we are not only speaking about our physical makeup. These qualities exist in both the mental and physical states. The Principle of Gender states that when our masculine and feminine principles are balanced, we are then able to reap the full benefits.

In order to fully appreciate this principle, we have to fully accept and appreciate all parts of ourselves and our being. When we are able to fully accept and balance ourselves, we are then able to appreciate and make use of all 7 principles.

Here we have it, the 7 Hermetic Principles. Use these wisely and enrich your life. Give yourself the life you deserve, as this is something only you can do.

Blessed be

Emerald
