Peaceful Sips

Hey Pumpkins! I know it's been forever, life has been so crazy!!!! We all have those times when everything is madness and overwhelming, so I thought.....I would share a recipe for a carminative peace tea! (I hope you are NEARLY as excited as I am)

Tea is an excellent way to relax your mind, body, and spirit. Of course, it works best when the right herbs are used, but drinking tea is always the goal.

The herbs we will be using today are Lemon Balm; Lavender; and Chamomile. These herbs, in general, are super duper good for you, part of their excellence is a calming effect. Let's take a walk through them:

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) :

This baby is a member of the mint family and is grown worldwide. One of her most traditional uses is mood improvement, which makes her perfect for our Peace Tea! Lemon Balm reduces stress and
anxiety, making you more relaxed, and resulting in a better mood. We all know how stress can bring us down.
(Side note: another plus is that she helps with sleeplessness and insomnia)

Lavender (Lavandula) :

Lavender, the smell of spring. I love how relaxing lavender is, even just the smell of her calms my
mind. Strangely enough, this herbie is also a member of the mint family! Although lavender is famous for her smell, she has many other uses. Her main uses (for this tea) are the help she provides for sleeplessness. She is wonderful for relieving the stresses of everyday life, as well as, lifting your mood, anxieties, and depression.

(PLEASE NOTE: this will not cure clinical depression or anxiety but will simply help lift you up from it.)

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla):

Beloved chamomile, how I adore you. Nothing is better than a cup of Chamomile tea after a long day. If it's hot, we turn it into iced tea! Not only is she refreshing but also perfect for today's tea. Chamomile
tea brings a complete sense of calm and peace, she is magical. She is (as are our other herbs) wonderful for insomnia and anxiety. With any sense of overwhelming or stress...Out comes Miss Chamomile.

Tea Time!

This tea is as simple as many other herbal teas. All you need is:
  • 1tsp dried lemon balm
  • 1tsp dried lavender
  • 1tsp dried chamomile
  • 3-4 cups boiling water
Simply steep (soak) the tea for 5-10 minutes and then enjoy! Yep, it's that easy!!!!

Well, Pumpkins, that is our tea for today! I hope you enjoy it and pleasseeeee let me know what you think when you try it!

Blessed Be

Emerald
