Herbal Medicine vs Orthodox Medicine

Hey, Pumpkins! A few people have asked me what the differences are between Herbal Medication and Orthodox Medication. So here it is!

According to Google:

Herbal medicine: "remedies and medicines made from plants"
Orthodox Medicine: " a system in which medical doctors or other healthcare professionals treat symptoms or diseases using drugs, radiation, or surgery,"

Let's start with Orthodox Medication:

Orthodox Medicines are the drugs you get at your average pharmacy. Prescription drugs, not fun drugs. these are the (mostly chemically made) lab drugs. Orthodox Medication became most popular during
the 19th century. This medication has saved many lives and should not be dismissed, although there are often better options. Orthodox Medication can often lead to other side effects which then need to be treated with more medication. Then you end up with your own pharmacy in your bedroom. (like I have)

Herbal Medication:

HERBS ARE LIFE!!!! Literally and Metaphorically. Everything in nature is connected. Everything has various energies that help in various ways, from plants to crystals to the elements. Everything has a
purpose, you just need to find out what it is. Mother Nature gave us all kinds of life to live together in harmony as one. (Yea, sorry Mother but we kinda messed that one up.) Herbal Medication, also known as Traditional Medication, has been around forever. Passed down from generation to generation it has lived on. This is one of many things our ancestors left to help us find our way. The earliest found record of herbal medicine was +/- 5000 years ago. It was traced back to the Sumerians, they carved the records into stone! Our ancestors are seriously not given enough credit.

Not to forget that plants may have side effects but often another part of the plant helps these symptoms. E.g: the leaves of a plant may help with a symptom, but high dosages will perhaps make you nauseous. Now, the, let's say root, of the same plant, may help relieve nausea. Make sense?

So which one? How do you choose?

Simple, both. Both Herbal and Orthodox Medication have a good history. I,  personally, would try herbal remedies before turning to modern medication. It completely depends on the situation and the individual. Guys, please remember, every individual is different and, therefore, every case is different. There is no one general solution for every case.

Well, Pumpkins, that's it for today! I hope this all makes sense and helps you understand. I really enjoyed writing this and found the research process pretty interesting. I hope you have as much interest in it as I did!

Blessed be

Emerald xx
